If it weren’t for the sheer amount of mass making the organ groan and growl mercilessly then it would no doubt be the fact that the morsel is still mostly intact, meaning the stomach would have to work more diligently in its attempts to break it down into fuel for its host…
With that being said, there’s a stark difference between the audible noises you might hear when digesting a bowl of cereal compared to a hardier, more protein based meal, wet gurgles and churns being replaced by much harder groans and growls and the acids slowly try to work through the gradually softening pulp….
The belches…. oh the belches….. they come after almost every hard, loud output from the struggling organ below, sending a blast of hot air up and out into the open. It reeks… the smell of hot, fermented meat taunting and warming the air around them….
